Sex Toy Review: Hands Free Dildo Fun

To my delight I was recently approached by Carvaka to review a few of their products. How could a girl refuse?

Today I am reviewing  the Aphrodisia 8 Inch Carved Dildo

So- first things first – here’s the official blurb…

The 8 Inch Carved Dildo is a bigger version of the 7 Inch Carved Dildo (also available from Carvaka). It features the same fantastic realistic design but has been moved up a size for greater and deeper penetration! The shaft is covered in bulging veins and has a large glans head. It has an insertable length of 6.5 inches and a girth of 5.8 inches at its widest point. The base features a very strong suction cup which you can attach to walls or tables for some fun hands-free play!

My Review

At 8.8 inches in  length (5.5 of which are insertable), and 5.6 inches wide, this is one hefty beast. The jelly rubber shaft is solid , and feels nice in the hands. However, it is the suction cap on the end of the dido that makes this sex toy such a winner.

Best adhered to flat areas- although it does well on the side of the bath for time- the suction feature allows the user to employ their hands elsewhere, for additional masturbation fun.

Soft, yet hard, (if that makes sense!), it is flexible and very comfortable and satisfying to use. (Obviously if you are allergic to rubber/jelly rubber this is not the toy for you). It is also wide! Lots of lube/ finger play build up required if you are of the smaller persuasion girls and boys.

Although I can’t speak from experience on this additional point- I can imagine that it would be a brilliant toy when employed by a couple as well…

The price, only £10.99, makes this dildo a bargain- even if you don’t utilises the suction facility. (The suction cap end makes a very good ‘holding area’ for personal thrusting! You can buy this solid mass of fun here-https://carvakasextoys.co.uk/8-inch-carved-dildo.html

You can see more details- and a sort YouTube video here.

Happy playing everyone,

Kay xx

I Blame Chaucer

February 14  |  BDSM, Book Publications, eBooks, erotic romance, News  |   Kay Jaybee

If it hadn’t been for Geoffrey Chaucer, then it is unlikely that we would connect the celebration of St Valentines Day with romance and love.

Brace yourself for a brief history lesson…

Chaucer

In 1382 Chaucer wrote the Parlement of Foules to honour the first anniversary of the engagement of King Richard II to Anne of Bohemia, when they were both only 15 years old. The poem contained the lines…

For this was on seynt Volantynys day, Whan euery bryd comyth there to chese his make.

[“For this was on St. Valentine’s Day, when every bird cometh there to choose his mate.”]

Prior to the publication  of Chaucer’s poem, Saint Valentine’s Day had been a religious celebration of a martyr (either Valentine of Rome or Valentine of Terni), and held no romantic links at all. However, writing at a time when romance and courtly love was at its most fashionable, Chaucer’s work quickly caught the public imagination.

Despite February being an unusual month for Chaucer to have written about birds mating, he wasn’t the only medieval author to have positioned such Spring-like antics so early in the year. Three other medieval authors centered their love poems on the allegory of birds mating in connection with St. Valentine’s Day around the same time; Otton de Grandson from Savoy, a knight called Pardo from Valencia, and the English poet John Gower.

Although it is unclear which of these other early Valentine poems came first, they were all widely read, and the connection between St Valentine’s Day on 14th February, and the joys of chivalrous romance strengthened and grew so much, that soon, the martyred saint himself was all but forgotten.

Courtly Love

By the Eighteen century in England, the 14th February had firmly evolved into an occasion when partners express their love for each other by presenting flowers, chocolates, and other gifts.

In the Nineteenth century, the sending of Valentines cards was so popular that they were becoming a mass produced item; especially in America and Europe, where the tradition continues to expand to this day.

I’m not entirely sure that Mr Chaucer would be that pleased with the manner of literature which I have to tempt you with as a Valentine’s treat…or maybe I’m wrong. He wasn’t exactly backwards at coming forwards with his saucy suggestions.  In The Wife of Bath, for example there are many thoughts on the sex- for example-

Telle me also, to what conclusioun
Were membres
maad of generacioun
And of so parfit wys a wright y-wroght?
Trusteth
right wel, they were nat maad for noght.”

OR- to clarify!!!

The argument above is that the genitals must serve some purpose. The Wife goes on to reject the idea that they are only made for urinating and distinguishing between males and females, saying her experience teaches her otherwise. Using the physical evidence apparent on the human body, as well as her own life experience, the Wife separates her argumentative strategy from the more abstract, learned type found in the books of “auctoritees,” or authorities. (Thanks to http://www.shmoop.com/the-wife-of-baths-prologue/sex-quotes.html for that!!)

So perhaps then, there won’t be too many medieval blushes, if I suggest that perhaps you’d like to secretly load your loved one’s Kindle with all manner of kinkiness while he or she isn’t looking….There’s nothing like mutual bedtime reading on Valentine’s Day!

Wednesday on Thursday: The Inspiration

February 3  |  BDSM, eBooks, erotic romance, News  |   Kay Jaybee

One of the most frequently asked questions levelled at a writer is, “Where do you get your ideas from?”

Only yesterday a friend of mine asked me that very question in relation to my latest  novella, Wednesday on Thursday. She also asked me when I’d be writing a sequel called Thursday on Friday!

Like all authors, I get my inspiration from everywhere and anywhere- and it doesn’t always wait patiently to be invited into my imagination. Often it rudely trespasses across my mind, shoving aside the plotlines I’m already working on, with the audacity to declare that it needs writing up right now!

The queue of ideas in my head from unexpected explosions of inspiration is incredibly long. As a consequence, it was over a year after I’d had the initial idea for Wednesday on Thursday before I had the chance to scribble down a rough plot outline. It was another six months after that when I had time to begin to write this story of words, sex and coffee.

And the initial inspiration… there was a man sat in the corner of my local coffee shop. He had a very particular sort of smile on his face as he bent over his newspaper; an espresso in one hand, and a pen in the other. I didn’t know him, but there was something about him that screamed out loud and clear that his mind was full of images that had nothing at all to do with the newspaper crossword he’d started to do.

His expression, the strong smell of coffee and the partly completed crossword started something snowballing in my imagination…Frankly, words turn me on. Intelligence turns me on more…and a nice smile…well…I risked a covert glance at his eyes…

That was that- I had found my hero for Wednesday on Thursday. I still have no idea how I didn’t sit down and start writing the story there and then- must have been the novel deadline I had looming! I also have no idea how I kept my eyes off him for the rest of the morning…Okay…so maybe I didn’t!

Wednesday on Thursday

Blurb

There are rumours that the coffee guy has “a thing” about words.

Shrugging off her friend’s concern about the way the man in the cafe stares at her every lunch hour, Wednesday can’t see how his love of words could possibly be hazardous.

The fact is, Wednesday rather enjoys being the centre of an attractive man’s undivided attention. His dark blue eyes alone have provided her with many delicious erotic fantasies, a welcome distraction from the pressures of the real world and a dull job.

It’s totally harmless…

…until there’s an accident with a cup of coffee.

After soaking Wednesday with a hot latte, the coffee guy’s attention suddenly becomes far more enticing—and dangerous.

Drawn into a bizarre world of human behavioural research, where crosswords are used to initiate sexual experiments, Wednesday finds herself driven, not by a desire to further scientific research, but by the need to be rewarded for her hard work by the coffee guy’s captivating research assistant.

A stunning redhead by the name of Thursday…

Extract from Wednesday on Thursday

… Wednesday had selected her clothes with more care than usual. She told herself she was wearing her best underwear because it gave her more confidence. It was absolutely not because she’d spent a largely sleepless night dreaming of the coffee guy’s expression as he ran his shrewd gaze over her jet black satin bra with matching knickers.

With one extra button open on her shirt, Wednesday left her flat, raking her hand restlessly through her long chestnut hair. She kept telling herself that he was just a bloke who got off on the power of making her feel sexy. That was perfectly all right by her, because he clearly had no intention of doing anything beyond titillating her imagination.

Wednesday had experienced her fair share of relationships during her twenty-nine years, but no-one had ever managed to arouse her with a single glance before.

‘For goodness sake, woman, you don’t even know his name!’ Even though she kept trying to talk sense into herself, the four hours until lunchtime couldn’t pass fast enough.

By the time her break finally arrived, Wednesday thought her heart was going to thud right through her chest with nervous tension. Walking into the café, she was more than usually aware of the sound of her heels clattering across the wooden floor.

Wednesday forced herself not to look for him, to just queue up for her latte and toasted sandwich as she always did. Even though she managed to prevent herself from obviously surveying the busy room, she covertly hunted for him nonetheless.

He wasn’t there. A sensation of disappointment gripped her. She felt stupid; humiliated even. But only briefly.

There was an envelope on her regular table.

Sitting down with her food and drink, Wednesday gaped at the cream coloured envelope. Her name was written in clear script across its front.

Wednesday took a soothing sip of her drink as she wondered if the coffee guy was hidden nearby. She had an uneasy feeling that, if he was secretly observing her, he’d be getting off on watching her reactions. Struggling to steady her erratic breathing, Wednesday was more than a little aware that her tits were doing their best to burst through their satin holster.

Exhaling slowly, she opened the envelope.

The words had an instant impact on her internal temperature gauge. Wednesday’s body began to alternate between flushing with heat and shivering with cold, as if she was getting a fever and a chill at the same time.

Dear Wednesday,

Forgive my rudeness for not having properly introduced myself before now.

My name is Lucas.

I will be blunt. I find you fascinating, and would like to make love to you. I would like to say my intentions are honourable, but they are not. They are lust-driven, and I feel it only fair you know that from the start.

If you are interested in knowing more, then please come to the address below once you have consumed your toasted sandwich. If you choose not to visit, then I will leave you in peace from this moment forward.

Whatever your decision, I would prevail upon you to keep this correspondence private.

Flat 1.

56 Chambers Way.

Regards,

L x

P.S. I apologise for the coffee incident. I trust I did not damage you. I will make the sincerity of my regret known to you should you decide to be my guest.

Wednesday didn’t finish her lunch.

Her legs had started taking her in the direction of Chambers Way without bothering to ask the rest of her if it was a good idea or not.

She knew the address.

The building, a private block of flats, was only two hundred metres from the office block where Wednesday had been employed as an administration clerk for the past two years.

Knowing she’d never forgive herself if she didn’t find out what was within Flat 1, with her pulse racing, Wednesday hovered outside a dark green front door.

A door that led to Lucas and whatever he planned to do by way of an apology.

Without allowing herself to think about what she was doing, Wednesday knocked twice…

Happy reading!

PS. Thursday on Friday does have a sort of ring to it…ummm….

Getting Acquainted with Anal Play

Comments Off on Getting Acquainted with Anal Play
January 30  |  Interview, News  |   Kay Jaybee

I’m delighted to welcome Elizabeth Morris to my site today to give us the lowdown (no pun intended!) on anal play.

Over to you Elizabeth…

Anal play is a subject that we get asked about all the time and tends to provoke excitement and confusion in equal measure. Anyone with an interest in all things erotic will likely have at least considered anal play either alone or with a partner. But getting started can be a bit of a minefield. So, we thought we’d do this “quick start guide” with all you need to know.

What is Anal Play?

Anal play is any sexual activity that involves stimulating the anus (entrance to the bum) and/or the rectal passage, either in men or women. While anal play typically involves penetration, it need not. For example, rimming or performing a “rim job” is when you lick your partner’s anus. The rusty trombone is when you reach around and perform a hand-job while simultaneously rimming. Anal play can be done alone or with a partner.

Why is it Enjoyable?

In both men and women, the anus is an area rich in nerve endings and hence stimulating with a tongue for example is pleasurable even if no penetration is involved. In women, the rectal wall and the vaginal wall are very close so when anally penetrated, pressure is put on the back vaginal wall which creates a pleasure sensation. If also vaginally penetrated (double penetration) the vagina will feel tighter which feels great both for the lady and the guy penetrating. Anal stimulation when coupled with clitoral stimulation eg receiving oral sex with a butt plug inserted will lead to more intense orgasms.

In men, anal penetration is all about stimulating the prostate gland aka the P-Spot. For a detailed explanation on this see our guide to prostate massaging. In short, stimulating the prostate is thoroughly pleasurable for men and can, in and of itself, lead to orgasm but when coupled with penis stimulation, it can create far more intense climaxes eg orgasming while having anal beads inserted.

Do I need to Prepare for it?

“Fail to prepare, prepare to fail” as the saying goes, is relevant for all things anal. While spontaneity is great, a little prep’ work will go a long way to enhancing your anal experience. If you know you will be having anal sex later in the day, it is best to keep food to light meals. Try to empty your bowels in advance and ideally take a quick shower straight after to clean the area. You could consider also using an anal douche which gives the area a rinse clean and leaves it sparkling in perfect readiness for your anal escapades!

Remember that the anus is not self-lubricating, unlike the vagina for example, so lube, lube and more lube is the recommendation here. While any lube will help, try to get a thicker consistency anal lube as will last longer during play than a water-based one for example.

To get started, consider just adding the tip of your finger into a well lubricated anus during masturbation sessions just to feel your way in, literally. As you get more comfortable, consider adding a partner and/or some toys to facilitate a deeper penetration.

Are there Anal Specific Sex Toys?

Yes, there are a whole host of sex toys on the market designed to make anal play more enjoyable. Men can choose from a vast array of prostate massagers and vibrators specifically designed to drench their prostates in pleasure. Women interested in exploring double penetration can choose from an array of double penetration vibrators. Butt plugs and anal beads are perfect for men and women alike and are designed to stay in place while you do other enjoyable things such as oral sex for example. While when we think on anally penetrating a man, we tend to think of gay men, this isn’t strictly accurate. Straight men can be penetrated by a woman using a strapondildo in an act known as pegging. This really mixes things up in a straight relationship with a boring sex life by adding a whole new dimension to sex. Of course women can chose from a range of strapon dildos which can be used on men or women, anally or vaginally as per preference. As mentioned above, regardless of the anal play that you are going to partake in, always remember plenty of lube.

OK, that’s it, I hope I have given you food for thought and enough to commence your anal adventures! Thanks for reading. Finally I have included a video guide below to butt plugs which should also be of some interest!

Interview with Joan Price: The Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty

Comments Off on Interview with Joan Price: The Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty
January 27  |  Book Publications, eBooks, News  |   Kay Jaybee

Today I am joined by Joan Price, a senior sex expert who has just written The Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty. As you can imagine, I had some questions I was just dying to ask her.

Most sex guides are aimed at the 20-30 age groups. What made you decide to write a book specifically for the 50+ population?

JP: Exactly because most sex guides are for younger folks! At 20-30, you’re discovering what works for you sexually, how to communicate what you need to your partner, how to satisfy yourself on your own, and how to please a partner.  At our age (I’m 71 as I answer your questions), the issues are similar, but not the same. We’ve had a half century or more of figuring out our sexual needs, but now we’re walloped by physiological changes, relationship changes, emotional changes. We need to educate ourselves all over again to keep sex vital throughout the rest of our lives.

Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty updated cover

The Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty is actually my third sex guide for the over 50 population. Each time I go deeper into the concerns that affect my age group. This latest book is the most comprehensive yet, with a lot of medical information as well as relationships, dating, safer sex, and all those other topics that affect us.

Do you find that people over 50 find it more difficult to talk about sex than younger folk?

JP: It depends. Many people in their fifties and sixties are used to talking about sex, but they’re not used to admitting that they’re having sexual problems. People over 70 had a more repressed upbringing – their sex education was more “don’t do it” than “here’s how to make sex satisfying.”

Do you think people who are over 50 need different advice to those ten or twenty years younger?

JP: Sure, because many of the issues are different. People 50 to 80-plus may experience arousal difficulties, orgasm difficulties, erectile dysfunction or undependable erections, medical conditions and medications that affect sexual function or sensation, stale relationships, a partner’s reluctance to spice up the relationship, the challenges of being single after decades of being partnered, and so much more.

Can you tell us a little about yourself? Website/blog links?

JP: I’ve led many lives! I was a high school English teacher for 22 years. Then I was a fitness instructor and health/fitness writer for 15 years or so. I started writing about senior sex at age 60 because I was in a passionate love affair with the love of my life, the artist Robert Rice.

Joan Price headshot

We met when I was 57 and Robert was 64, and it was the best sex and the best love relationship either of us had ever experienced. That led me to write Better Than I Ever Expected: Straight Talk about Sex After Sixty, to celebrate the joys of senior sex. After that, huge numbers of seniors started sending me their stories and asking me their questions about how to improve their sex lives, so I wrote Naked at Our Age: Talking Out Loud about Senior Sex, which won two major awards. Then I edited a hot, steamy anthology of erotica featuring writers over 50 and characters over 50: Ageless Erotica.

There was still more to say, still more questions to answer, still more people who wanted help resolving their problems, so I spent the last year and a half writing the most comprehensive self-help book on senior sex: The Ultimate Guide to Sex after Fifty, which just came out January 2015. I’m very proud of it.
