Opening Lines with Mia Ryder: Downtime

It’s been far to long since I had an Opening Lines feature on this blog!

I’m putting that right today with the first 500 words – exactly – from the fabulous Mia Ryder, whose latest hot release, Downtime, is out now!

ALL ABOUT DOWNTIME

“Oh. My. Gay. God. The atmospheric opening got my spine tingling, which was just a taster for what else would be tingling moments later. ‘Downtime’ will have you on the edge of your seat, and edging in other ways before the story climaxes. Mia’s first gay erotica is not to be missed.” – Drew Hubbard, Pride Reads

Fresh from his ordeals in the HQ re-education centre and then with Raquel the serial killer, Nick is taking some well-earned time off.

Of course, Nick doesn’t know how to relax, so most of his downtime involves scouting for his next lover. Cue gorgeous young twink Rafe …

Rafe is failing his way through life. First as a writer, now as a waiter: he comes to Nick’s attention when he gets fired from the bistro Nick happens to be in.

It’s clear Rafe has zero confidence. He’s been living a cycle of self-denial, meaning he’s long overdue a good time.

Nick decides he has the goods to rock Rafe’s world AND shake up his worldview a little.

Little does Nick know that Rafe has a few surprises himself …

DOWNTIME is part of the SEX. DIE. REPEAT series and explicit, paranormal M/M erotica.

SEX. DIE. REPEAT is bitesize filth you can devour before bed. Each story can be read as a standalone too.

(PLEASE NOTE: This story is for adults only and contains homoerotic content, as well as depictions of flogging, exhibitionism, religious iconography, mild horror as well as commentary on life choices, mental health and self-care. )

FIRST 500 WORDS

Rafe didn’t think much of the fact the tube station was deserted, nor was he concerned when the next train came in without passengers. Listening to his ear pods, his head bobbed up and down to his favourite, Ariana Grande. Thank u, next.

He dragged his tired self through the automatic doors, letting them swish shut behind him. It was only just seven o’clock in the evening; Rafe left his home twelve hours ago but it felt like years. In the winter he’d leave in the dark and arrive home in the dark.  His feet throbbed; his back ached from standing all day. Rafe let himself fall onto the scratchy fabric seat, breathing in the musty, stale air through his nostrils. A momentary wondering bubbled up in the surface of his brain.

Where was everyone?

This concern disappeared as the train shuddered, moving away from the vacant underground platform. The lights overhead flickered as the tube plunged into the dark tunnel; for a moment, all illumination was gone.

Rafe was alone, in the dark.

Discomfort rose in his chest in that microsecond. Darkness brought with it unwanted memories of childhood, hiding under the bed or in the wardrobe with his sister while their mother indulged in drunken rants about their no-good father who’d run out on them. Yet as quick as it disappeared, the light was back, casting its fluorescent glow around the carriage.

As Rafe blinked, allowing his eyes to readjust, he discovered he was no longer alone. Another man stood four or five feet away from him.

A fluttering of anxiety surged in Rafe’s chest at the sight of him: where had he come from? Was this an ambush? Rafe knew, from bitter experience, certain violent types liked to hunt down those they deemed ‘weaker’ by isolating them, like a lion separates a gazelle from the rest of the herd.

No, Rafe was being over-cautious. He’d not seen a living soul at the station; nor had there been anyone on board the carriage. The stranger would have needed to be psychic to know Rafe was alone and vulnerable. He can’t have appeared out of thin air; he must have been moving from another carriage to this one as the lights went out.

It was just a coincidence.

The stranger held on to a commuter rail above him. He didn’t look like he really needed to; he was a huge, solid biker guy, broad in the shoulder. He had a swarthy complexion, blue eyes and skeins of silver-grey in his long hair and beard. He stood with feet wide apart, his other hand in his leather jacket pocket. He wore blue jeans, work boots, a bandanna, and a gold earring, like a pirate.

Rafe felt a stirring in his groin at the sight of the biker. He reminded him of the iconic homoerotic work of Artist Touko Valio Laaksonen aka Tom of Finland. Rafe had grown up watching movies and TV shows about motorcycle gangs and this guy looked…

Excerpt:

Nathan closed his book with a very final slap and put it on the coffee table in front of him, then leaned back in his chair. Stretching languidly, he said, “Bloody good, that was. Though, admittedly, I thought it’d last me all week. Wasn’t expecting to get through it on day one.”

Raising an eyebrow, Lee shot Nathan an amused glance. “Not far off myself. Fucking storm. Stupid us, eh, going on holiday in the UK in summertime—not like you can guarantee the sodding weather, is it? Should’ve gone to the Canaries.”

“No, we can’t guarantee the weather, but…” Nathan gave the window a sidelong glance, “I do have some good news.”

“Yeah?”

“Yeah. The torrential downpour has stopped.”

“Seriously?” Lee slammed his own book closed and scurried over to the window. “Oh, wow, it’s cleared right up, and I can see a rainbow. Wanna head out? Just a little wander down to that pond we saw on the way here, maybe? Get some fresh air. We’ve got loads of daylight left, haven’t we?”

Nathan checked his watch. “Plenty. Especially if we’re only nipping to the pond. It’s probably only a fifteen-minute walk.”

“Fantastic. I was going a bit stir crazy in here. I’ll grab our coats and shoes.”

Lee had disappeared into the hallway of their rented holiday cottage before Nathan had the chance to reply. Shaking his head with a smile, Nathan collected their empty mugs from the coffee table and took them into the kitchen, then got a bottle of water from the fridge. He doubted they’d need a drink during their short trek along the road, but he could just shove the bottle in his coat pocket and forget about it. At least it’d be there if they wanted it.

When he returned to the living room, Lee was just about to tie up his laces.

“I got water,” Nathan said, brandishing the bottle.

“Cool. Shoes are there.” He nodded to the chair Nathan had been sitting in. Sure enough, his trail shoes were waiting on the floor in front of it.

“Thanks.”

Within a few minutes, they were headed out of the door. Nathan locked up, pocketed the key, then checked the handle. He doubted very much the place would get broken into—they were in the middle of nowhere, after all. There were farms nearby, but the closest village was about a mile and a half away. So any thieves would have to make a considerable effort to get to the cottage in the first place, never mind attempt to break into it. Rolling his eyes at his own paranoia, he turned and followed Lee, who’d already started ambling along the road in the direction of the pond.

After falling into step beside Lee, Nathan pulled in some deep breaths, enjoying the fresh air after being cooped up in the cottage. It was beautiful, and cosy, but it was supposed to be a base for them to go walking—somewhere for them to eat, sleep and shower, not to be stuck in for hours on end, staring at the walls. Or climbing them.

He admired the rainbow as they walked, its vivid colours painted across the watery sky. It seemed the clouds had literally exhausted themselves—only occasional wispy streaks of white now interrupted the never-ending blue. The sun beamed down, heating up the ground and beginning to evaporate the huge puddles. It would take some doing—one such puddle stretched across the width of the road, and they had to skirt around its edge to avoid getting wet feet.

Nathan smiled. Though the storm itself had been grim, the washed-out aftermath made everything feel fresh, clean somehow.

“You look thoughtful,” Lee said, breaking into his reverie. “A penny for them?”

“Mmm. It’s one of those things that sounds better in your head than said out loud.”

“Try me.”

Shrugging, Nathan replied, “Nothing major. Just admiring the rainbow, the sky, the clouds… thinking how everything looks so fresh and clean after a good storm. Like it’s been purified or something… Ugh, it’s stupid.”

Lee stopped and reached for Nathan’s hand. His green eyes were wide and filled with wonder. “No, it isn’t. Not at all—I was thinking something similar myself. It’s kinda romantic, isn’t it? Purification, rebirth, and all that.”

“In a roundabout way, maybe. I dunno.” He shrugged again.

Lee’s eyes narrowed, and his lips curved into a wicked grin. “We could make it romantic.”

“How so?”

“Come here and I’ll show you.” Still gripping Nathan’s hand, Lee tugged him close and moved in for a kiss. Nathan went into the embrace willingly, the smile on his face soon smothered by Lee’s hot lips.

Blurb:

Nathan and Lee are on a relaxing summer holiday in the UK. They plan to do lots of walking and exploring in the beautiful English countryside. Naturally, typical British weather derails their plans on their first day, leaving them cooped up indoors with little to do but read.

When the weather clears, the men eagerly put on their hiking boots and head out for a walk. However, when they reach their destination—a pond a little distance from their holiday cottage—they make a shocking discovery. An odd-looking bundle of rags turns out to be an unconscious man. With no one else around, and no mobile phone signal to call for help, they manage to get the stranger back to their cottage to get him warm and dry, and figure out what to do next.

When their unexpected house guest regains consciousness, however, things just get more complicated. The stranger—a British soldier called Jonny—doesn’t want the authorities to be notified of his presence. As the three men try to come to some agreement, the sexual tension in the air becomes apparent, and suddenly the last thing on any of their minds is leaving the cottage…

A Q&A from Bella Setterra: The Red-Light Wrangler

My lovely friend, Bella Settera is here today- and it’s cowboys all the way…Hold on tight!!

FINAL PRINT COVER 06.04.16

Q.  Red-Light Wrangler is the second book in The Men of Moone Mountain Series. How come it’s a MM story whereas the first was MMF?

A.  The Men of Moone Mountain are a mixed bunch, some gay, some bi and even some straight! It is a very open-minded community where no-one worries too much about their neighbor’s sexuality so anything goes.

Each book in the series is written as a stand-alone novel, so you don’t have to read the whole series to understand each book, although some of the same characters will crop up in each of the books. Rich Buchanan appeared in Menage on Moone Mountain and I really wanted to give him his own story.

Q.  Was this your first MM or ManLove story?

A.  Red-Light Wrangler was my first full-length MM novel, although I did have a gay couple of pirates in Secrets of the Siren (Siren Publishing), which was fun to write.

I enjoyed the challenge of writing Rich Buchanan and Nate Walker as both vulnerable and alpha-male at the same time, and would certainly write other MM characters in the future.

Q.  Will there be any other MM pairings in The Men of Moone Mountain series?

A.  Not yet. Book three in the series, Ménage on Ryder Ranch is a MFM story, and the book after that, Ménage at the Mode Boutique is another MMF, as was the first book in the series, Ménage on Moone Mountain, which has been my most popular novel so far. I wouldn’t rule it out, though 😉

Q.  As a British author, how hard is it to write about ranches and to set your stories in America? It must be a totally different culture for you.

A. Indeed. This is a question I am often asked and a very good point. I do a lot of research into ranching and have learned a lot about the day-to-day functioning of American ranches, just so I can add the ‘normalities’ into my stories. A lot of information is available in books and on the internet, and I also have friends in the States who have experience of working on ranches, families who own them, and a few who have had working holidays on dude-ranches (they’re great for the nitty-gritty gossip about what really goes on as well as the ‘inner-workings’!) 😉

Also, writing stories relies mostly on using the imagination, and as authors we often set our novels in unreal and fantastic worlds. For instance, there would be no sci-fi novels if we all had to rely on going into space or time-travel in order to write them; and shape-shifters and werewolves might be unheard of without an author’s imagery. Then there are vampires, fairies, all things supernatural and paranormal, the list goes on and on. Basically all stories require a certain amount of creativity – the skill comes from drawing a reader into our world and making them believe, even for a short while, that they have been transported to another place

Q.  Are your characters based on anyone in real life?

A.  Hmm, that would be telling!!!!  Actually, although it would be wrong of me to write about anyone who could be recognizable in any of my stories, I do find myself picking ‘aspects’ of people to add to my fictional cast. For instance, the handsome looks of an actor’s face might merge with the great body of model, while a friend’s mannerisms or accent might mingle with the vulnerability or humor of someone else. Even then, when it seems I have constructed the ideal hero or heroine, I like to throw in a few flaws just to make them a little imperfect – that’s how they get their character and make them relatable and interesting, in my book(s). Can a bad reputation hide a good heart?

After realizing everyone he has been with only wanted him for his money, Rich Buchanan, the billionaire’s son, gives up the dream of a serious relationship and gets his kicks sleeping around. He prefers men, but he only brings home women, since his father would be horrified to find out Rich was gay. But secrets are hard to keep among the rich, and his antics soon earn him the nickname “The Red-Light Wrangler” when people discover that money exchanges hands whenever he sleeps with a guy.

When Nate Walker starts work as Assistant Foreman at the Buchanan Ranch, his good looks and gorgeous body immediately pique Rich’s interest. And despite the gossip, Nate can’t help falling for him, either. But when Rich’s cousin Joey decides to blackmail Rich to pay off his debts, he soon realizes he could get much more out of the situation. Outing his gay cousin and causing a rift between Rich and his father could be just the thing to secure his own position as Frank Buchanan’s sole heir.

Rich has no one to turn to but his lover. But Nate has secrets of his own, and his reasons for being at the ranch are not entirely honorable…

Story Excerpt

“Sorry to hear about your dad, Rich.” Kent Freeman, the Deputy Sheriff, stood there with a grim expression on his face. “Mind if I come in?”

Rich stood back, allowing the tall, handsome guy into his house. He had expected him to go straight into the office, but Kent turned into the sitting room where his eyes went directly to the small table. Shit!

Rich felt his stomach lurch as Kent stared down at the note. “This arrive today?”

“Yeah. I just found it in the mailbox.” Rich frowned. He had expected Kent to be surprised by the note, but he seemed to take it in his stride.

“Mind if I get it fingerprinted?” Kent asked, not even touching the paper.

Rich shrugged. “Be my guest. You know who it’s from?”

Kent sighed as he put on a glove before placing the note in a plastic bag he pulled from his back pocket. “Do you?”

“I’ve got my suspicions,” Rich replied.

“Let me guess. Your cousin Joey or Cole Jackson?”

Rich gawped at him. “How in hell do you know that?”

“You should’ve come to us right at the beginning,” Kent admonished. “Could’ve saved everyone a lot of time and trouble.”

“You took Cole Jackson in about the poisoning, said you couldn’t pin anything on him,” Rich reminded him. “Anything after that would just sound like sour grapes.”

“We didn’t know about your cousin trying to blackmail you. Or Dan Robertson’s involvement.” Kent looked at him, shaking his head.

Rich sighed. “Kent, you know how it is. I’m gay, man. Dad’ll go mad if he finds out. I’ll lose everything.” He slumped into the nearest armchair, and Kent followed suit in the one opposite.

“Being gay ain’t a crime, Rich, but blackmail is. And so is poisoning horses.”

“I know, but Dad won’t see it that way. He’ll disown me, I know he will. Joey knows it, too.”

“That’s what he’s banking on,” Kent agreed. “But you’ve lost half your livestock because of this. And if you can’t prove you didn’t do it yourself you won’t even get the insurance pay out.”

Rich took a swig of his whiskey. “So, will this prove I didn’t do it?” He gestured to the note which the deputy had put in his pocket.

Kent Freeman shook his head. “Nope. I’m afraid it just gives you a motive.”

Extract

Suddenly Rich grabbed hold of Wyatt’s muscular arms and pulled him down onto the bed. He got up and stood over him, yanking the blond guy’s long, hairy legs over his shoulders. He heard a loud gasp as he hauled him down the bed to get a better position.

Wyatt grabbed a condom from the nightstand and passed it up to Rich. He snatched it out of his hand and grinned when he opened it. Ribbed. He rolled the rubber onto his pulsating dick and yanked the guy’s hairy ass open. He heard a yelp, but paid him no heed. He watched Wyatt screw his eyes shut and barked at him. “Look at me!”

Wyatt’s eyes shot open and he stared up at him. Rich had a sense of satisfaction at his control. He lined his cock up to the gaping asshole and stared into Wyatt’s eyes as he thrust past the tight rim.

“Aah!” Wyatt’s panicked eyes seemed to glaze over and his jaw tensed.

Rich massaged the guy’s ass with one hand, while stroking his cock with the other until Wyatt’s face relaxed. Then he pumped hard into him, eliciting another loud yell. The cowboy’s shouts soon became excited as the pain must have morphed to pleasure and he began grunting with each thrust. Rich grinned as he pounded hard into the guy’s ass. He needed this. He closed his eyes and Nate Walker’s face flashed into his mind. He felt himself grinning as he thrust harder and harder, visualizing Nate lying naked before him, Nate groaning in ecstasy.

When Rich opened his eyes they were watery and glazed. All he could see was a mass of blond hair on the bed and, with his mind still on Nate Walker, he moaned loudly. He felt the body beneath him thrusting back toward him and heard fevered yelps and groans. The fire in his belly was roaring now and he felt like his whole body was a raging furnace. He hammered hard into the ass under him, yanking on the dick in his hand. With a loud grunt the body he was fucking convulsed and he felt cum like boiling lava trailing down his hand. His own orgasm wracked him and he pounded hard into the guy’s ass, over and over. Lights flashed in front of his eyes and he heard himself roar as relief swept through him. He just kept thrusting until he was finally satisfied. His breathing was rampant as he slunk onto the bed next to his partner, and he felt the cool air wash over his sweating body.

Both men lay in silence, heaving at the air, eyes closed for several minutes. Rich’s eyes opened slowly and he stared at the face next to his. For a split second he had actually expected to see Nate Walker lying there, but realized in horror that it wasn’t. While Wyatt’s eyes were still closed, Rich shot to his feet and grabbed his clothes before heading off to find the bathroom down the hall. He disposed of the condom and splashed cold water over his face and torso. His breathing was still rapid and he took a glass of water to try to recover himself. Pulling his clothes back onto his still-sweaty body felt horrid, and he left his shirt unbuttoned, hoping that the cold night air would cool him off a bit.

His head automatically faced the bedroom when he retreated from the bathroom, but he thought better of it. Like a thief in the night he made for the front door and slipped out. The cold night air bit him hard, and he shivered as he climbed into his car. Opening the windows wide he relished the freezing cold of the wind as it swept through his hair and over his flushed body. He needed the cold. He needed the space.

He needed Nate Walker…

About Bella Settarra

In Bella’s world all the heroes are gorgeous hunks and the heroines are always beautiful. Having said that, she firmly believes that ‘handsome is as handsome does’ and that ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’. (She is also a big fan of clichés as well as alliteration!)

She has been hanging out with her ‘imaginary friends’ for a couple of years now and finds the profession exhilarating and intriguing.  Her stories are all Erotic Romances, although they vary considerably in subject-matter.

She loves writing Cowboy Romances and was thrilled when the first book in her The Men of Moone Mountain series, (Etopia Press), entitled Ménage on Moone Mountain, received a nomination for the Ménage Romances Fan’s Award 2015 and became an ARe Bestseller, and the third book in this series, Ménage on Ryder Ranch was also nominated for the Erotic Ménages Romances 2016 . The fourth book in this series, Ménage at the Mode Boutique is now also available in digital format. She is currently writing another Cowboy series, Midnight in Montana (Siren Publishing), the first of which, Dallas at Midnight, is already available, with the second, Meet Me at Midnight due for release in June 2016.

Her Collar and Cuffs series (Etopia Press) also received an ARe Bestseller Award for Waiting on Summer, which has also been nominated for the BDSM Writers Con Golden Flogger Award 2016. This series was set in a BDSM club in Miami, and was a joy to write.

Guest Post from H K Carlton: Jack and the Jean Stock – A Naughty Fairy Tale

I’m delighted to welcome back a great writer to my blog today, it’s the lovely H K Carlton. Not only has she written a great new story, but she is playing fast and loose with one of the world’s favourite fairy tales…M/M style…

Hello Kay. Thank you so much for having me back. I’m really excited to share this new book with readers. It’s something a bit different for me. A Naughty Fair Tale and m/m to boot. I’ve attempted short m/m stories before but never anything of this stature.

I had a lot of fun writing this new and naughty version of Jack.

If you’re familiar with the fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk; I tried to stay true to many of the stories’ memorable features—though I don’t want to give too much of my rendition of the story away—I did manage to keep the famed Fee, Fi, Fo, Fum, but probably not in the way you’d expect. I also gave the tale a modern update along with my own little twist, that gives Jack and his giant, a whole new connotation.

Jackandthejeanstock-

You wouldn’t think there’d be a lot of research involved when twisting up a tale we’ve heard retold since childhood; but I still did my fair share.

Here are some quick Jack Facts included in this retelling:

Normally, an author needs to select a unique name for their characters but since this is a twist up on the old classic, of course Jack was already a given. So I chose to give Jack the surname of Castor after the castor bean. (See what I did there?) LOL (eye rolling, optional)

I also incorporated several names of supporting characters into the story who were either purported to have written, re-written or featured similar stories of Jack and the Beanstalk or Jack and the Giant Killer (my own little nod to the stories and ideas of the authors who’s original work I added to)

Such as, Sergeant Rick Tabart – A hunky cop and ex-lover of Jack’s is partially named after the Benjamin Tabart who is documented to have offered the first print version of Jack and the Beanstalk in 1807

Mr. Jacobs – a close neighbour of Jack’s, is named after Joseph Jacobs, whose version of Jack and the Beanstalk is the one most readers are familiar with. (English Fairy Tales, 1890) Later, Joseph Jacobs also put his own spin on a rendition of Jack and the Giant Killer

I chose Gigandet – pronounced Gid—Jan—Dette – as the surname for our giants. A little play on the word gigantic

In the story there are numerous references to size. Along with mentions of well-known giants or people — real or imagined — who are known for their immense stature. Including some biblical, Viking and mythological

One other interesting fact — Most fairy tales have some form of magic element or paranormal aspect; my version of Jack is completely contemporary and I think, absolutely plausible

I hope readers will enjoy my take on Jack and have a lot of fun picking out the similarities to the original story as well as many other subtle references to famous people or familiar stories. I had such a good time writing his story and can’t wait to share it.

Jack and the Jean Stock

Blurb:

Strapped for cash and drowning in his ailing mother’s medical debt, the one bright spark in Jack Castor’s life is working his dream job for a specialty clothing manufacturer that caters to large men. Although his personal life is all but nonexistent, career-wise, he thrives under the tutelage of his friend and father-like mentor, Cronus Gigandet, a gigantic man with a heart to match. But when Cronus dies suddenly, the company’s future is thrown into uncertainty.

Titan Gigandet, Cronus’ wayward son, a giant of a man in his own right, is furious when he learns his father has included his upstart protégé, Jack, in his will, leaving him equal shares in the family-run factory. Reluctantly, Titan rescinds his own self-imposed exile and returns to a company in turmoil.

The gloves come off, and the major players fight for control. With the shareholder’s agreement about to run out, decisions concerning the business need to be made, and quick. But Jack and Titan clash at every turn. The pair is so at odds, the quarrels rapidly become physical, but fists soon give way to angry, forbidden kisses. Though the blazing new attraction does nothing to quell the antagonism or distrust between them.

While battling to save the company, Jack’s mother takes a turn for the worse. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, Titan unearths a stunning find.

Could this new discovery be Jack’s ‘golden goose’ or just the beginning of the end to everything Jack holds dear?

The big man lay there, still as death.

“Oh bloody hell!” Jack rushed to his side. Kneeling, he took his pulse. It beat reassuringly.

He was afraid to turn him over just in case he injured him more. And he knew he wouldn’t be able to get him to the house by himself.

Jack pulled out his cell phone and was about to dial 911 when Titan groaned and rolled over onto his back. To Jack’s surprise, he smiled up at him and chuckled. In his half-drunken state, his eyes were half-mast and dreamy. And once again, it hit Jack square in the gut how handsome the man was, even if he was the world’s largest prick.

“Well, come on, Englishman, help me.” He reached up.

After a moment of hesitation, Jack took his giant hand, and after planting his feet, he braced to heave the massive man back up onto his enormous feet.

But as Titan began to sit up, the easy-going expression on his face changed and too late Jack realized he was going down.

Titan might have his size going for him, but Jack knew how to fight. It was one of the good things that had come out of his on-again off-again relationship with Sergeant Tabart. Grappling with Deputy Dimples was one of his favorite workouts.

But with the element of surprise, Titan clipped him on the jaw before he could even get his bearings, rattling his thoughts.

Titan tried to straddle his prone body, taking the dominant position, but his intoxication worked in Jack’s favor.

“You fucking bastard!” Titan roared, about to drop another fist, but Jack took evasive action and craned his neck to the side while twisting his body beneath the behemoth on top of him. Slightly off balance, Titan swayed, his knee leaving solid ground by Jack’s hip. Jack seized the opportunity and bucked the bigger man, not off— he would be so lucky, but it was enough to change the trajectory of his fist. His clenched hand landed with a thud in the grass near Jack’s chin.

“You sneaky fuck, I hate you!”

That pissed him off. Jack punched the inside of Titan’s bent elbow, knocking the joint out. The big man fell forward and Jack tried to dislodge him.

They rolled and somehow Jack ended up on top. “You’ve no right to hate me,” he yelled. “I’ve done nothing to you. ‘Til now!” Looking for a little payback, Jack punched his nice strong chin.

“Umpf!”

The next thing Jack knew, they were rolling around the front yard like a couple of twelve-year-olds fighting over all the marbles.

“You took my fucking life!” Titan landed another stinging blow, this time catching Jack’s cheekbone.

“You’re insane!” Keeping up the tit for tat, Jack nailed Titan’s chiseled cheek.

“That should have been my job. My inheritance. My dad!”

“He was your dad, you freaking moron. That’s something I could never take away from you. He loved you.” Jack got the upper hand and looked down at him. “He was proud of you. Don’t ask me why. You were a lousy son. You’re the one that fucked up by staying away! You can’t blame anyone but yourself for that.” Jack punched him again. “Not even me!”

Titan growled like a rabid animal; his strength surged. Another tumble and Jack was on the bottom again. He braced himself for the onslaught to come. Luckily the ginormous man was half tired out from wrestling. Jack struggled, trying to capture his wrists and control him and the situation before he did him some real harm.

It only seemed to piss him off all the more. His nostrils flared. He gritted his straight white teeth. He continued to snarl obscenities and blame Jack for everything wrong with his life. He lowered his center of gravity as they continued to grapple. Practically face to face now, Jack cringed, afraid Titan might resort to using those sharp looking chompers since he was unable to inflict pain any other way.

He howled and dropped his cheek to Jack’s. Mortified, Jack squirmed, turning his head from side to side in an attempt to get away from the angry man. Their noses hit. Whiskers chaffed.

Out of nowhere, Titan inhaled abruptly, then his full lips grazed Jack’s. By accident of course but it was enough to peak Jack’s interest. What would he do to him if he realized Jack was aroused?

Titan continued to twist his head back and forth, as if using his forehead to hold Jack down. But with every pass he managed to swipe across Jack’s mouth.

One minute they were brawling and the next Titan captured his lips in the angriest adversarial but amazingly stirring kiss he’d ever experienced.

What the hell? He soon realized he wasn’t the only one stimulated.

Between open-mouthed kisses, his tirade turned into murmurs of need. Titan reached out with his tongue and the light taste of whiskey that lingered acted like its own intoxicant, making Jack dizzy and weak.

Angry adrenaline turned to forbidden desire in an instant. Bodies straining to get closer. Even with the vast difference in their height, Titan contorted his frame so he could rub his impressive erection alongside Jack’s.

Jack snaked his arms around him and encircled his athletic ass with greedy hands. Squeezing his firm glutes, he pulled Titan more firmly against him while working his hips.

Panting, Titan raised his dark head. “Let’s go inside.” The new raspiness in his voice sent another jolt straight to Jack’s aching cock.

Titan rolled off him. Then he waited for Jack to gain his feet before reaching out for help. This time, Jack hesitated. Fool me once…

H~K

I enjoy writing in many different genres. I write where the muse takes me and make no apologies for it. By now, it’s quite safe to say I will never pick just one genre and stick to it. There are just too many possibilities and stories left to tell. Today time-travel, tomorrow sweet historical romance—the next release might be, down and dirty erotica or ménage. I hope you’ll join me for the ride. Variety is creativity’s playground—It’s where you’ll find me.
