Time Tracking with Samantha Winston

I’m delighted to be joined by Samantha Winston. She is with me today to share a little from her latest erotic adventure Time Tracking.

Over to you Samantha…

Hi Kay, and thank you for having me as a guest blogger! I’m really pleased to be here today to talk about my favourite thing : (well, favourite thing besides chocolate!) time-travel!

What would happen if a man from the past were brought to life in the present – a man frozen for centuries..? That’s what happens when Kell’s body is found in the Arctic, sold to the US Army, and reanimated in an ultra-secret base in Alaska (that everyone knows about).  In order to communicate, the army hires Allie, an expert in ancient languages. But the scientists don’t want Kell as an anthropological case – they want to study his brain and body for cryogenics. Not good news for Kell, who is basically a prisoner about to be executed. Allie decides to save him, and they set out in the Arctic with nothing but some high-tech snowsuits (thank you, US Army corps) and Kell’s knowledge of survival in the wilderness.

In the second part of the book, Bruce Steele, a tracker, wakes up in the far future. He’s been reanimated on a space station, somewhere in the Hera Galaxy. He’s alone – except for a very sexy, extremely pedantic android who is supposed to teach him all about modern society – except how can he concentrate with a raging hard-on? Apparently, when you’ve been frozen and thawed out – your extremities tingle…the scientists will be fascinated with that bit of info. Until then, Steele, a game tracker,  has to find a niche in an ultra-sophisticated technological world!

Time travel has always been my favourite subject – The Road to Alexander, published by Accent Press, is about a woman sent back to ancient Greece to interview Alexander the Great. So when I read about a man found in a glacier, and nearly intact, my mind started buzzing. Wouldn’t it be incredible to have him wake up and tell us about his life in the past? But how could he communicate? And from there, I imagined the story of Kell and Allie. But because I grew fond of the man tracking them, Bruce Steele, I made a story just for him, where he’s flung into the future and has to face the same sort of culture-shock Kell, the man from the Iron Age, did.

Excerpt:
Kell sat still, his eyes taking in her every move. As before, some things seemed familiar, while others made no sense. The brazier had a collapsible tube that fit into a hole in the tent. That made sense since smoke was a problem for tents. This brazier was made of white metal and stood on three sturdy legs. All that he had seen before. But this brazier had another, smaller tube that ran from the brazier to a small blue jug. The jug had a handle that turned, and a blue flame sprang from the top of the brazier so suddenly that Kell flinched.
Allie turned and patted his arm. “I’m sorry. All this must seem so strange to you.”
He closed his eyes. Strange was not the word. Everything he had known had become twisted and bizarre. Familiar things had mutated into frightening machines. Even horses had turned into rumbling machines that belched stinking fog and had one bright eye. No, that was untrue. He knew what was machine and what was alive. His world had its share of machines, but none that ran by themselves. A shiver ran over his body. Blindly, he put out his hand toward the warmth of the brazier. Fire still gave warmth.
His hand brushed against soft skin and he froze. Eyes still closed, he ran his fingertips over Allie’s brow, over her cheeks and across her jaw. He drew a line with his fingers, following her neck to where her pulse beat strongly. She caught his hand in hers, holding it tightly. Pulling her to him, he pressed his lips to the soft skin on her temple. Her curly hair tickled his face, but he didn’t open his eyes.
The feel of a woman…that hadn’t changed. The scent and taste of women hadn’t changed. A deep sigh escaped him as warmth crept into his bones. Soft and sweet, and strong and brave. “Allie,” he whispered. The tent leaned, buffeted by the wind, but the brazier warmed the air, and he opened his eyes to stare at the woman who had saved him from the prison.
“What is it?” Her big brown eyes were questioning. Her lashes cast jagged shadows on her cheeks.
“Thank you.” He slipped his hand behind her neck and pulled her to him.
A little hesitantly, she put her arms around his shoulders. “You’ve got such broad shoulders,” she said, a catch in her voice.
He tugged at her chemise and lifted it over her head, then stopped, perplexed. He had seen brassieres like hers in Rome, but they’d been made of knitted wool. This one was made of silk that stretched like a supple skin. She took it off, a smile curving her lips. Then she stood and slipped off her pants.
In the pale, blue light of the brazier, her skin took on the glow of polished marble. “You look like the statue of a nymph.” He got to his knees and cupped her buttocks in his hands. Holding her tightly, he pressed his face to her sex, letting the smell and feel of her soothe his shattered nerves.

Hitting 200…

Believe it or not, this month I am celebrating my 200th publication! Whether long or short, flash fiction, poem, or novel, romance, erotica, or crime, every single piece of writing that I’ve managed to find a publisher for feels as much as a miracle now as it did when I began to write 12 years ago.

That 200th story was my recent novella release, Wednesday on Thursday.

Wednesday on Thursday

Although I’ve written 12 novels and 9 novellas as Kay Jaybee, Jenny Kane or Jennifer Ash, if it wasn’t for the short story trade I’d have never have written any of them.

Before I even dared to try and write something longer than 5,000 words, I’d had 40 short stories and poems published. I’m so glad that’s what I did. Writing those early stories taught me so much. They were my apprenticeship; a place where I learnt that every word in every single sentence counts.

Sexy Just Walked Into Town

If you’d like to read a few of those short stories, then why not check out The Best of Kay Jaybee.

Blurb-

Fourteen of the very best erotic tales of dominance, submission, bondage, and romantic lust, are delivered with lashings of kink from the pen of Kay Jaybee. From the sexual adventures recalled by a woman as she stares at her favourite shirt, to a deliciously dirty orgy on a bed of cardboard boxes, the after-hours education of a rookie soldier, and the bizarre obsession of an Egyptologist, each story shows why Kay Jaybee has been hailed as ‘a master of the craft of erotica’ (Oysters and Chocolate). As a girl writes messages of lust on the body of her best friend’s lover, and a mistress’s employment of ropes and chains on her slave co-insides with the application of emulsion, we discover just how Kay has earned her reputation for producing ‘super-heated kinky stories,’ (Kd Grace), which are ‘a sublime pleasure to read’ (Violet Blue).

The stories tucked inside The Best of Kay Jaybee come from the Xcite anthologies I’ve had work included in since 2008, (such as Maggie, The Basic Rules of Anal Sex, and The Fuck-Me Cabbie),  as well as my three solo Xcite collections, Quick Kink One (The Shirt), Quick Kink Two (The Bride wore Rubber) and Yes Ma’am (Lying in Wait).

As you’d expect from me, there are a fair number of dominance and submission related stories included in this anthology, but there is also a heap of romantic lust, explored fantasies, and happy kinky threesome play.

If you’ve never read any of my work before, then The Best of Kay Jaybee is a great place to start.

Here’s a little taster from…

The Fuck-Me Cabbie

‘That’s him over there.’

‘The one stood on his own? Brown hair, tight jeans, cute arse?’

‘That’s him.’

‘Does he have a name?’ I put my drink down onto the sticky plastic topped table before us, not taking my eyes from the back view of the man leaning against the bar.

‘Well, the men call him Mr Greedy?’

‘And the women?’

My friend smiled at my expression, she knew me very well.  ‘They call him the Fuck-Me Cabbie.’

‘Really?’

‘Oh yes.’ The satisfied lilt to Jenny’s voice made me drag my eyes away from the self- styled Adonis at the bar, to the air of happy memory plastered across her face. ‘He claims to have had sex with nearly every female passenger he’s carried in his taxi between the ages of 18 and 50.’

‘Is that so?’ I picked my Cola up and took a long thoughtful draft as I rocked back on my chair.

‘So he says.’

‘And you believe him?’

Jenny said nothing, but her smirk spoke volumes as she peered at me over the top of her glasses.

‘And was it worth it? Is he that good in reality, or is it all arrogant attitude?’

‘I can’t argue with the arrogant bit, but the man’s bloody hot. Annoying; but true.’

Running a finger around the rim of my empty glass, my eyes returned to the cabbie, mentally willing him to twist round so I could get a proper look at his face. As if picking up on my mute signal, he turned, a pint glass in his hand, and stared directly at me. Unashamedly, I stared back.

It was his eyes that struck me most. They screamed non-stop endless desire; a desire which would somehow never be satisfied. The square cut to his chin and his bulky, yet toned frame, simply bellowed sex, as if a neon sign was permanently flashing above his head saying “Get it here- NOW.”

The other signal he gave out, perhaps even stronger than the aura of lust, was conceit. He’d been told once too often that he was good in the sack. This cabbie needed taking down a peg or two.

‘Go and talk to him.’

Jenny’s eyes flickered at me mischievously, ‘what are you thinking?’

‘He needs cutting down to size.’

‘How?’

‘You’ll see.’ I kept eye contact with him. He didn’t need to say anything to let me know what he was thinking. ‘I want you to tell him there is a threesome on offer. Do not tell him who’ll be involved, but feel free to let him make his own assumptions. It’s not our fault if he jumps to the wrong conclusion is it.’

Jenny looked momentarily disappointed, ‘Won’t it be us?’

I couldn’t help but smile at her. Jenny’s neat chest had been poking at the flimsy covering of her t-shirt and bra ever since we’d started discussing the taxi driver.

‘Of course it will be us. But it might not be him…are you game?’

‘I’m game. Tell me.’

Pointedly ignoring the cabbie, I shifted our chairs closer together so that no one could overhear what I was about to divest to my companion.

Regarding me with renewed interest, Jenny was obviously eager to get our plotting underway immediately, but was still a little unsure about my plan, which I had to admit, was a bit complicated. ‘Do you think he’ll go for it? He’s not known for sleeping with a woman more than once. No return fares as it were.’

‘I’m sure you could lay it on strong. After all, he’s had you, but not me. You’re a beautiful woman honey, use that to our advantage. Sod feminism for once! Paint him a picture he can’t refuse. Tell him about our casual relationship, and I’ll see you and him at the back of the car park in an hour. And don’t forget to switch your phone to vibrate.’

Jenny stood up, readying herself to approach our quarry, her short floaty skirt swaying suggestively around her long legs. I re-focused my blue eyes onto the cabbie’s gaze, communicating what I hoped was an expression of mutual understanding. Then, with a deliberately seductive glance at Jenny, I trailed a polished fingernail down her pale neck, with the intention of planting the idea of all three of us being together firmly in his mind…

I never dreamt I’d still be writing 200 stories after that very first one – a short tale called ‘Jen and Tim’ which was published in an anthology called Lips Like Sugar (Cleis Press). I certainly didn’t think I’d be living under 3 pen names! Nor did I think I’d be teaching creative writing- and yet here I am doing all those things! (You can check out my workshop business here)

Thank you to all of you for buying enough of my books to keep me going for so long!

A Scottish Fantasy

Happy New Year to you all!!

Here’s a little something to warm you up on a cold January day- a read from my new Scottish fantasy story, which can be hidden into The Collector, – one of twenty two kinky stories.

The Collector 2016 b

Blurb

Gathering salaciously erotic stories against an everyday backdrop of bus trips, train journeys, coffee shops, and restaurants, The Collector documents a wide variety of sexual encounters as she travels Great Britain.

The Collector’s research takes her into every arena of the erotic experience, from love, lust, submission and dominance, to voyeurism and beyond.

Are you brave enough to see if it was your supposedly private conversation she overheard – and then wrote down?

Extract from The Scottish Fantasy

Stacie gasped as the door opened. The dark shine to the man’s slate eyes as he regarded her and her friend Kate was in danger of taking Stacie’s breath away, and he hadn’t even spoken yet.

Tall, broad, with a tanned face and short spiked hair, a hint of stubble shadowed his square chin. Obviously surprised to see two young women walking through the woods so late on a winter’s afternoon, the ranger ushered them inside his wooden hut.

Introducing himself as Rob—Like Rob Roy! Stacie’s inner voice shouted at her. How perfect is that!—he looked at them enquiringly, ‘I dunna ken what you’re doin’ here, hens.’

Stacie’s brow furrowed. She’d thought that the Scottish spoke English.

Kate laughed as she saw her friend’s confused expression. ‘He means he doesn’t understand what we want, honey. “Dunna ken” means “don’t know” and “hen” is the local term for girl.’  Turning toward the ranger, Kate smiled. ‘This is Stacie, and I’m Kate. Stacie hasn’t got her ear geared into the local accent yet; she’s American.’

‘I guess that means an American accent.’ The ranger spoke so softly, Stacie felt herself melting on the spot. ‘I rather like those.’

Ignoring her friend, whose eyes were on stalks, leaving her in no doubt that Stacie was on an internal lust trip, Kate said, ‘We’re really sorry to bother you so late, but could you tell us where we are? We seem to be on a much longer trail than we intended to be, and we’ve lost the track.’

Rob’s dark eyes bored into her as she spoke. Kate couldn’t decide if their presence mildly amused him, or if he was merely tolerating the interruption to his work.

‘We’ve run out of water as well. Could we fill up our bottles here, please?’

‘It’s a good job you stopped, hen.’ The ranger pulled a map off his cluttered desk and pointed a thick finger at a red dotted line. ‘You’re here, on the all day walk. It’s called that for sound reasons.’

Lost in an erotic daydream, Stacie wasn’t listening to a word he said, just to the sound of his voice; the beautiful, gentle burr of his accent. She judged it fitted neatly half way between Ewan McGregor and Sean Connery.

When Kate had invited her friend over from the States for a couple of weeks exploring the Grampians of Scotland, Stacie had been thrilled. Not only could she catch up with her gorgeous friend and occasional lover, she could visit an area of the world that had always held a fantasy for her. Kilts, burly men in tight white vests, cabers being tossed, heather, whiskey, and mountains topped with snow.

The heather and mountains were a reality sure enough, as were the late night tots of warming whiskey she’d shared with Kate as they snuggled up together in the king-sized bed their Deeside hotel room provided. But until now, in this ranger’s office, hidden away in the woods near the flooded caves of Burn O’Vat, Stacie hadn’t seen anyone who even came close to the Celtic man of her late night fantasies.

Stacie felt mesmerised by the ranger. Despite the coldness of the late winter air he wore no coat, and his green sweater sleeves were rolled back to show arms honed by hard work. Forget kilts, this was as close to perfection as Stacie’s Scottish fantasy was ever going to get.

‘I’ll fill your bottles right enough, but if you’ll heed my advice, you’ll go back on the route you came. Far quicker and safer. It’ll be dark in about two hours.’

‘Thanks, I think we’ll do that.’ Kate watched as he took their empty water bottles over to his sink. His back view was as stunning as his front. The goldfish expression on Stacie’s face told her girlfriend that she was mentally undressing him, and Kate began to do the same.  Well aware that Stacie had serious fantasy issues where Scottish men were concerned, Kate wondered just how turned on her friend was. Did she have damp knickers? Were her nipples hard?

As Kate’s thoughts rambled, her own arousal began to tweak up a notch. Perhaps… She took a deep breath. Well, why not?

‘It must be lonely here, on your own all day.’ Kate knew the line was a bit lame, but she didn’t care. A sideways glance at Stacie showed that her lover had understood her intentions, and approved.

Rob didn’t look round. He didn’t need to. He could sense the two sets of eyes on his back; they were almost scorching him. Taking his time to fill the second bottle, the ranger thought the situation through.

Two of them, both hot totty. One a blonde, one a redhead. One English. One American. A tasty combination. Their bulky winter coats, sensible walking trousers and boots didn’t give much away, but he was willing to bet that once all the layers were off, they would be a sight to behold. He could be wrong, he supposed, but maybe…

Rob replied to Kate’s question. ‘I like it well enough, hen. I ken it’s quiet, but I like peace and quiet.’

‘So, you don’t get… lonely, then?’ Kate knew she was being blatant, but she didn’t care. If she could pull this off, it would be the perfect holiday present for her friend. Stacie, her mouth dry with anticipation, stepped forward. Pulling off her gloves to reveal pale hands with violently clashing purple nail-varnished tips, she took the full bottles from Rob’s hands. Making certain her fingers brushed his as she did so.

‘Thank you,’ Stacie purred as she passed one of the bottles to her partner. The tacit standoff that followed as tension rippled through the small office room-cum-workshop was eventually broken by Rob.

‘Would you lassies like something to warm you up before you go?’  His sentence, delivered in a deadpan tone, could have been suggesting something as mundane as sharing of a mug of hot chocolate, but his sparkling eyes hinted at so much more.

Stacie’s pulse quickened as Kate casually replied, ‘Well, if it’s not too much trouble, that would be lovely.’ Another normal sentence, but packed with enough eyelash-fluttering that she might as well have screamed out ‘Fuck us now!’

‘I was about to light the fire.’ Rob knelt at a small grate, already neatly piled with kindling. ‘Perhaps you’d like to lose your jackets for a while. When this takes, this place gets pretty hot.’

The girls’ eyes were drawn to the hopping, spluttering flames. They threw their coats over their backpacks, which they’d already dumped by the front door.

Taking his time with the fire, the ranger didn’t stir from where he crouched until it had taken to his satisfaction, and was smoking nicely up the chimney. Then, with a measured movement, he stood and faced his guests, who with unspoken agreement had divested themselves of far more than just their coats. Somehow Rob managed to keep his face passive as his eyes travelled from the top of each girl’s head down to their toes.

They stood naked. Holding hands. So, lovers in their own right, then. Nice. He smiled. It had been over fifteen years since he’d been with two women at the same time. A memory that kept him warm during the dark winter days and nights as he guarded the woodland and its wildlife.

Deciding against comment, Rob took a silent moment to choose which girl he’d treat rough and which one he’d simply treat. Then, with a pace that neither girl would have associated with the man whose previous movements had been so controlled and steady, he stripped…

Here are a couple of lovely reviews!

‘WOW, what a GREAT book! Ms. Jaybee, the true author of THE COLLECTOR, honestly has me curious if she is, in fact, this collector. Her intros were so well written and believable that I fell under an erotic spell while reading. I didn’t LOVE every story, but I really did at least LIKE almost all of them for one reason or another. My favorites were Treasure, where a woman invites a friend of a friend back to her place so he can discover her hidden treasure; and Crushed, where a 2 (and a half) people in a standstill crowd experienced a hedonistic anonymous encounter. If I heard real life stories like these on a regular basis, I swear I would die from a state of constant arousal! … ‘ The Romance Reviews

‘Such a unique book.  The title was perfect for this book.  The Collector.  I know you are asking how I call an erotic book unique.  Well, it is because the author has such a wonderful way with writing.  I admit this is not my first Kay Jaybee book, and it will certainly not be my last.  Kaybee, is such a wonderful author.  The stories she writes are not just all sex, they each have meaning, plot, characters, challenges.  This book is no exception to her wonderful work.  Another amazing read by Jaybee.’ Bunny Reviews

Still wicked with words

I feel I owe you something of an apology. For the past few months, I’ve been having a bit of a break from erotica writing.

This is for all sorts of reasons- the main one being the mundane need to earn money! The day when my children head off to university is fast approaching, and sadly the bills can’t be paid via erotica alone! This means I’m taking on more freelance writing – which weirdly (and unlike writing books), has the potential to earn me money!

adventures

Then there is the fact that I write under two other pen names as well as Kay. (Which I love doing – I’m not complaining or anything- just explaining)

As Jenny Kane I have a Christmas anthology coming out on 17th November (Jenny Kane’s Christmas Collection) – and that means a lot of PR work. The next JK summertime novel, Abi’s Neighbour, also needed to be written (out May 2017).

As Jennifer Ash I have a medieval mystery novella coming out on 5th November (The Outlaw’s Ransom), and I’ve been deep in PR land for that as well – not to mention writing its follow up novel, The Winter Outlaw (out Nov 2017).

There are only so many hours in the day, and only one of me to go round. However, with all that ‘other people writing’ going on, it sometimes feels like ‘Kay’ has been abandoned; but I can assure you that she is still whirling away in the background!

wicked-weds

Every week I put aside a few hours on a Wednesday, and a couple of extra hours at the weekend if I’m lucky, to keep up my wickedness with words. Only having a few hours doesn’t mean I write so much kink as I used to- but the production line of naughty wordage still flows.

Today I’ve been lucky, and had some time to do some digging into that most essential item in a writer’s toolkit- Roget’s Thesaurus. I wanted to make sure that I have enough alternate words for ‘pleasure,’ ‘long’, ‘flick’ and so on, in my latest novella. After all, who wants to be hit with a mass of word repetition within their bedtime reading?

roget

At the current time, I’m at the editing stage for my newest Kay story- a novella about a man obsessed with words and our reactions to them…but with a very kinky twist… I’ll tell you more about it very very soon…

If you can’t wait until then, then you will be able to read two brand new Kay stories in the forthcoming BRAND NEW Brit Babes anthology, Sexy Just Got Kinky, – OUT SOON!

‘The Collector’ Rides Again

With the exception of my Christmas Kink collection (which I’ll be reminding you about soon!), I haven’t got any other self-published books. So, at the moment I’m stuck in dilemma land – do I go one stage further and get The Collector published as a paperback…or not?

While I’m busy thinking it through, you can buy my kinkiest collection on Kindle!
